What is HALAL Certification?
Halal means permissible or allowed and halal certification provide approval to all the Muslims consumers that the food is processed as per the Islamic laws (Sharia). The food products which are consumed by Muslim society in step by step life are in consistent with the process and strategy as described by Islamic laws which are similarly nutritious, pure and ensure quality.
Halal objective is to identify halal audit concept and to know the procedure of halal audit.
What is Halal Audit?
Audit is an important element in the Halal certification assessment. It is a procedure to be compliant, as stated in the MPPHM and no application will be approved or exempted from this process. This demonstrates that the audit of an entity is capable of meeting the requirements of the halal pension process in assisting the authorities to make the Halal verification approvals.Â
The importance of Halal audit – The importance of halal verification audit can be seen with the implementation of the audit to ensure that a product at its source of ingredients are absolutely Halal without any elements of doubtful or suspect, whether to be eaten or used by Muslims without the audit it is difficult to detect and identify the ingredients or raw materials use in the food because most of the ingredients and raw materials used are in the code of specific terms Ecode number on the label.Â
Audit is able to ensure that the entire flow of processing meets the requirement of the Islamic law it is also to ensure that no element of doubt in every stage of processing flow that starts from the manufacture of processing to the finished product. It covers all raw materials, acceptance, delivery (handling), product processing, packing packaging
process, personal hygiene of workers and equipments.
HALAL auditing procedure
1. Identify the type of inspection
- Complaints – Carried out immediately after receiving public complaint
-  Periodic – Done systematically and continuously
- Follow up – Inspection towards company which fails to comply based on previous inspection
2. Auditor – Audit must be not in the halal certification panel, minimum two officers who are competent in Islamic education and Technical matters
